
Pradeep Hegde, Natural history filmmaker and wildlife cameraman was born in Sirsi, Karnataka to an agriculturist family at the foot hills of Western Ghats. He completed his schooling from Government Primary School, Guntkal and Modern Educational Society, Sirsi. Later he completed his pre-university from Chaitanya PU Colleges Sirsi and later bachelor’s degree in life sciences from Christ University, Bangalore.
He focuses on conservation issues and solution-based stories that bring about awareness and a positive change in people’s perspective towards nature and wildlife. He has a strong biology academic background and worked as a primary cameraman for “Wild Karnataka,” the first-ever blue-chip natural history film produced by Indian Filmmakers and narrated by David Attenborough and international producitions for Blueant, National Geographic, Silverback and many others.
Along with high-budget production films, he works and produces films in close collaboration with various on-ground conservation teams such as WildCAT – C and WCS-India and NCF.
He stays in North Bangalore working on wildlife films for broadcast and OTT. During his initial career, he has worked with at Felis Creations with Sandesh Kadur a well known wildlife filmmaker from India.
He has directed several documentaries for many NGOs and has made series for Roundglass Sustain.
